Boilerplate (~100 words)
FuelNow is a free iPhone app for finding cheap fuel across Australia. It opens straight to a map with a live price on every station in view – the cheapest standing out – using every official government price scheme in the country, across all states, the ACT and the Northern Territory. In WA and the NT it shows tomorrow's locked prices from 2:30pm. Every price is labelled with how current it is, state by state, and the app collects nothing: no ads, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, nothing to buy. It's designed, built and run independently by its creator, Sean. fuelnow.com.au

Quotes you may attribute to Sean, creator of FuelNow
- "FuelNow is the simplest fuel app in Australia – one screen, no ads, no account."
- "Every FuelNow price says how fresh it is. If Victoria's feed runs a day behind, that's written on the price."
- "The government apps stop at the border. Drivers don't."
Story leads with numbers behind them
- The August excise rise, station by station. From 3 August 2026 the temporary excise cut ends and pump prices step up just under 18 c/L. FuelNow baselines every station in late July and then counts, live, how many have passed the full rise on – per capital and per region. Nobody else publishes this. The tracker.
- City vs country, on official boundaries. Every state page compares the capital's median with its ABS Rest-of-State region – "regional NSW pays X c/L more than Greater Sydney" is a number you can quote and check. All cities and regions.
- Tomorrow's prices, today. WA and the NT publish tomorrow's locked prices at 2:30pm – drivers can know tonight what fuel will cost in the morning, and most apps ignore it.
- Melbourne's day-behind feed. Victoria reserves real-time prices for its own channel and delays the public feed 24 hours – third-party apps either carry yesterday's official prices or fill the gap with crowd and retailer reports. FuelNow carries the official feed and says "yesterday" right on the price.
Dates for the diary
- 2 August 2026 – the temporary fuel excise cut ends.
- 3 August 2026 – the full excise rate applies; pump effect just under 18 c/L. FuelNow's tracker starts counting the same day.
